Spawning Survey Information

Spawning Training with two peopleThe Council sponsors spawning survey training every year with the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife personnel.

Participants learn how to identify fall coho, winter steelhead trout, native cutthroat trout, spawning redds and other aquatic life in Gales Creek.

Training consists of a classroom session and a field session.

After the training, members are encouraged to visit the streams periodically to record salmon spawning activity.

Salmon Spawning Survey Training Flier

This is a great chance to get hands on experience in helping collect data about fish presence in various Tualatin Basin streams.  This data helps us plan projects for the areas that are the most beneficial for salmon use.
