Upstream Factors Affecting Tualatin River Algae - Tracking the 2008 Anabaena Algae Bloom to Wapato Lake, Oregon

The objectives of this investigation were to: 

1. characterize and document water-quality conditions associated with the 2008 blue-green algae bloom in the Tualatin River; 

2. identify the cause(s) of the bloom;

3. examine how water discharges from Wapato Lake affected plankton communities in the Tualatin River; and 

4. document how the bloom affected municipal water providers and users.
